Swachchh Gaon - Swastha Parivar

Health is major issue in jhabua. Jhabua has the highest mortality rate in children under five in the world. Families often have to take a loan from informal sources for medical conditions. They get entrapped in a vicious debt cycle. ‘Swachchh Gaon - Swastha Parivar’ is an initiative under women leadership, the 'mother of the house' to take on various dimensions of health - ranging from medication to nutrition.

Mata ki Badi

To cope up with the nutritional deficiency, the villagers identified a set of 13 fruiting plants which they can grow in their in-house garden. The bundle consists of Mango, Neem, Jamun, Papaya, Lemon, Meetha Neem, Moringa, Shehtut (Mulberry), Seetaphal (Custard apple), Ramphal (Wild sweetsop), Amla, Belpatra and Giloy. The tribal families adopt the saplings and grow them like their children.

In 2018 and 2019, each year, 300 families adopted the set of saplings. First picture - Families taking saplings from Shivganga Gurukul - 2019. Second picture - Uday Singh Bhai of Badi Bawadai village, with Jamun plant adopted in 2018.

By contributing to the Mata ki Badi initiative, we serve three purposes at once

  • Contribution to the environment

  • Serving the nutritional requirement of the family

  • Paving a source for income for the family in future, a step towards self-reliance.

One bundle of such a set costs just ₹390. The rest of any expense incurred during growth is taken care of by the family.

We get to serve the Mother Earth and our Tribal India in just ₹390! Your every contribution pave the way for a healthy and sustainable future of our Rural India!

Let us join our tribal brothers in their devotion to nature.
